I explored with the topic of Sexual Education as well as my personal relation to this. I grew up in the south, so I became accustomed to the abstinence/faith based education that was implemented for the course curriculum in my school district. By choosing to keep this topic of sexual education a secret, we’re not eliminating the amounts of teen pregnancy and stis/stds spread, but rather failing to equipt our youth for their future relations ahead. Religion based morals on sex shouldn’t hinder a kid from receiving important factual knowledge that impacts one’s future, relations, as well as ones lifelong health. This is an important conversation that needs to be had.
